Getting Started

How are you different than other fitness trainers or therapists?
We are expert and professionally trained marriage and family therapists and fitness trainers. We’re uniquely qualified to help you improve your health.

I am very private. It’s extremely important to me that issues I discuss are confidential. Is my confidentiality completely protected?
We maintain strict confidentiality with each of our clients. It’s important that we have a safe and trusting space for you to work towards your goals.

I’ve never done this before. What can I expect at my first session?
At your first session, we’ll discuss your goals and some of the obstacles you’ve encountered in the past. Together we’ll create a custom wellness plan that works for you.

How do you determine my specific needs and goals?
Before we get started, we’ll help you determine the areas of your life that you’d like to see improvement. With clear goals, we create customized therapy and/or fitness plans.

What kind of results can I expect?
We strongly believe in the connection between minds and bodies — and the importance of attending to both. To see the best results, we recommend a holistic approach that focuses on the individual as a whole, unique person.

 
 

 

Minds

What is a marriage and family therapist?
Marriage and Family Therapists are mental health clinicians trained to assess, diagnose and treat individuals, couples, families, and groups. We focus on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are developed through relationship and thus, affect a person's well being. 

I don't have any major obstacles. Why try this program when I have family and friends I can talk to?
A friend or family member is not professionally trained to help you grow, heal, and transform.  Friends and family can offer advice based on their life experiences, but a trained therapist is interested in helping you find your own answers by fostering a connection with what is true and right for you.

Can you prescribe me medication?
I cannot. I am a marriage and family therapist, and we do not prescribe medication. I can be a part of your wellness team, which includes talking to your primary physician, psychiatrist, chiropractor, or any other care professional you approve of me connecting with on your behalf.

 
 

 

Fitness

I haven’t exercised for a long time. Is this program right for me?
Yes! We invite everyone to join us for an opportunity to improve his/her life, regardless of past fitness experience. This is a safe space for our clients to make healthy lifestyle changes.

I already have a therapist. Can I still participate in fitness training?
Of course! Regular exercise is beneficial for everyone, and we’d love to be a part of your fitness journey.

Is there a nutrition component to your fitness program?
Yes! As nationally certified personal trainers, it is within our scope of competencies to offer nutritional guidance.  Our program offers education and support around issues like appropriate amount of caloric intake when exercising, macro and micro nutrients psychoeducation, meal planning, and referrals of resources.  We are not, however, licensed dieticians, and when appropriate, we do refer our clients to a registered dietician.

I don't want to talk about personal things at the gym? Does this happen? 
No, the essential components of our professional philosophy are confidentially and safety.  BeYOUtiful Minds & Fitness's holistic health program is designed to offer a safe space for discussion of confidential topics in an office setting. While working out in the club, I provide motivation, cheerleading, and support. That is all.  

I have a general medical condition or chronic illness. Can I still do this program?
Many clients in our program find us because of our ability to provide individualized care when a client is living with a medical issue or illness. We take the utmost care in qualifying our clients for our program, and the choice to work with BeYOUtiful Minds & Fitness is a collaborative one. You, an agency, and other necessary care providers decide together how, and if, we move forward.

I've worked with a trainer in the past and they only help me for our 60-minute session. What other ways do you help me stay motivated and accountable to my goals?
Like your past trainer, we’ll get to workout together, but our expert team also help program your schedule for the week and design your exercise homework. We eliminate the stress of worrying about what to do and when.

 

 

Payment

Do you take health insurance?
Unfortunately, not right now

What forms of payment do you take?
Currently we take cash, debit cards, checks, and credit cards.  We also encourage clients to inquire with their healthcare plans about flex spending and health savings plans, and if these options can be used for payment. Unfortunately, at this time we do not accept insurance.
